Workplace Fitness Centre, Sofia

MoVe Architects transformed an unused 157 sq.m lower-ground space into a contemporary fitness centre for the company’s employees.

The design responds to the existing exposed concrete structure and limited ceiling height with a bold industrial concept. Black metal mesh, concrete textures and mirrored surfaces are balanced by warm wood-effect flooring and energetic orange accents.

The layout is organised into dedicated zones for cardio, strength training, free weights and functional exercise, ensuring efficient circulation and safe use of the equipment. Impact-resistant rubber flooring protects the high-intensity areas, while full-height mirrors visually expand the space.

Geometric LED frames turn the existing ceiling beams into a distinctive design feature and provide balanced lighting throughout the gym. New ventilation, air-conditioning and electrical systems are fully integrated into the interior, together with acoustic panels, audio equipment and television screens.

The result is a functional and visually distinctive corporate gym that transforms an underused technical space into a valuable workplace amenity supporting employee health and wellbeing.
